Brenda L. Hodge has been employed for the State of Ohio the Department of Administrative Services, for 23 years.

Currently, Ms. Hodge is an EEO Contract Officer with the Equal Opportunity Division, Business Certification and Construction Compliance Unit. Her responsibilities include conducting on-site compliance reviews & recommending corrective action to ensure governmental regulations are observed; provided guidance and certification or non-certification to businesses wishing to participate in the State of Ohio Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) & Encouraging Diversity, Growth and Equity (EDGE) programs. Certifying minority-owned, women-owned and socially and economically disadvantaged business making them eligible to participate in the state’s initiative programs. Maintain a searchable database of certified businesses, prepared reports & recommendations based on investigations, and implementing program rules and conducting training. Monitoring and ensuring compliance requirements for the State of Ohio’s EEO laws, rules and regulations in accordance to the areas of equal employment opportunity and affirmative action practices for all construction contractors who are bidding and receiving state contracts from the State of Ohio. Provide assistance to state agencies, colleges, universities and municipalities with the implementation of construction compliance. In addition to ensuring compliance with State of Ohio equal employment opportunity goals by contractors who will be receiving funds either directly from the state or administered by the State for construction in certain areas of Ohio. Issue Certificate of Compliance to insure prime and subcontractors are complying with the terms of the standard construction bid conditions relative to equal employment opportunity.

During her tenure with the state Ms. Hodge has worked in the areas of Computer Services, Benefits Administration, Technical Support Unit, and the Affirmative Action Unit. She has provided support to the Deputy Director’s Office and the management staff of Computer Services as well as Administrative Services Director’s Office. Services related to health and ancillary benefits, Dependent Care Spending Account, COBRA and Child Care Voucher programs, Worker Compensation Benefits and Disability Claims. Coordinate and review training evaluations and prepares materials. She also assists with the discrimination complaint process for state agencies. She is responsible for compliance review for all state agencies as well as reports and project reviews for all construction company. Issues Certificate of Compliance to insure prime and subcontractors are complying with the terms of the standard construction bid conditions relative to equal employment opportunity.

Ms. Hodge has one child and in her spare time has volunteered with Children Services, Special Olympic and worked as a cheerleading coordinator for the community summer league football team.
